September National Tournament
If you had a blast at the May Regional Tournament, get ready to be blown away by the September National Tournament in Dallas, TX! This event takes the thrill of competition to a whole new level, as it brings together students from across the country to test their skills against peers of similar age and experience.
At Taekwondo America, we always deliver a superb event at our National Tournaments, and this one, in particular, holds historical significance as it marks the first Texas-based National Tournament for our school. You won’t want to miss this opportunity, as it might not come around again for several years!
Participating in tournaments is crucial for the growth of your confidence, technique, and experience as a martial artist. In fact, it is a requirement for all students aiming to test for Black Belt. With the National Tournament being our closest one yet and offering a range of competitions suitable for everyone, we strongly encourage all our students to consider this event as a mandatory part of their martial arts journey. Your participation will not only elevate your own skills but will also support our goal of hosting a National Event here in Austin in the future!

Kick-A-Thon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Since we opened our school in February 2020, we’ve been committed to good works as a way of giving back to our greater community. Last year we hosted our inaugural Kick-A-Thon that raised $4,087.42 for St. Jude and we want to crush that goal this year!
If you are familiar with a Walk-A-Thon, then you’ll easily understand how our Kick-A-Thon works. Basically, we’re asking our students to find several donors to sponsor their attempt to kick cancer’s butt by performing as many kicks as they can for 20 minutes. You can download the donation form below using the designated button which also gives an outline of how to event functions.
The Kick-A-Thon is open to everyone in our community, not just LTA students. If you have a friend/neighbor/coworker/relative/etc. they can join too! The more the merrier! We recommend kick donations for 1 – 5 cents per kick as you can expect to do anywhere from 500 – 2,000 kicks!
Join us on Friday, September 29th in lieu of regular classes as we get our kicks in for a great cause! TKD uniforms and attire is not required but are encouraged to help you maximize your kick count!

Sparring Workout
Our next Sparring Workout is set for Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 AM for our students ages 10+ that are Orange Belts and above.
Sparring workouts are a great way to develop your skills by getting in as many rounds as possible with people that you may not normally spar in class.
These workouts are informal, meaning we’ll wear regular workout clothes, play music, and just have a ton of fun sparring and sweating together!
