Since we opened our school in February, 2020, we’ve always had the goal of being a community asset in Leander. It’s been my belief that martial arts is far more than just kicking and punching; it’s also about fostering leadership, character development, and making a positive impact in the lives of everyone who steps onto the mats and even beyond. That’s why we are hosting our 2nd Annual Kick-A-Thon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Friday, September 29th.
When we hosted our inaugural Kick-A-Thon last year, it quickly became a highlight for the year. By supporting an outstanding charity such a St. Jude, our students were driven to participation and we crushed our goals. In fact, we were able to raise over $4,000 in just one day! By giving back to our greater community, it set a positive example for our students, showing them the importance of empathy, compassion, and the joy of helping others.
For our Kick-A-Thon, students will seek sponsors who are willing to donate based on the number of kicks they can perform within a specified time period or through a flat fee. Instructors will be on hand, not just to guide them through the kicks but also to motivate and encourage the students to persevere and push themselves past their self-imposed limits. If you are interested in joining us for the fantastic event, there’s still time to find sponsors and register!
The goal is clear: to raise as much money as possible for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. But it’s not just about fundraising; it’s about celebrating community, resilience, and the spirit of giving. Participants can look forward to music, exciting prizes, and swag bags with items from St. Jude as a token of appreciation for their support.
Mark your calendars and we’ll see you there to help “Kick Cancer’s Butt”!
